Live at the MoLeNET 2008 Conference

Decided to broadcast my question to the MoLeNET 2008 Question Time panel live over Qik. I was asking the question how should colleges address services such as Qik, Flickr and YouTube in regard to privacy, data protection and copyright. All views expressed are those of the individuals only.

  1. I think the ‘stunt’ that you pulled there, showed quite brilliantly the issue that is, and the ease with which a learner can record or even live broadcast what goes on in a lesson. The consequences of which could be serious, and the solutions for institutions isn’t easy, however as you suggest, the key here, is that thought needs to go into this now, to pre-empt situations, rather than waiting for them to happen and find ourselves trying to retro solve problems, which is both hard work but also damages the reputation of mobile devices.
